CCSS Poets are using the Expanding Expression Tool (EET π’π΅ποΈπ€πβͺοΈβ) to grow language and create beautiful artwork. Click the link to see the entire Anthology of Free Verse 2024.
EET, created by Sarah L. Smith is a systematic and multi-sensory approach designed to enhance expressive language skills, particularly for individuals who struggle with organizing and expressing their thoughts.
By prompting individuals to use the color-coded bead system. EET aims to improve the ability to provide detailed and comprehensive descriptions. The hands-on physical prompt helps create a visually structured framework, making it easier for individuals to organize their thoughts and communicate more effectively.
Each bead represents a specific question that provides detailed descriptions and expanded expressions:
π’ Green (Group) What group or category?
π΅ Blue (Do) What does it do?
ποΈ White (Look like) What does it look like?
π€ Brown (Made of) - What is it made of?
π Pink (Parts) What parts does it have?
βͺοΈ White (Where) Where can you find it?
βOrange (?) What else do you know?
